Putney Cloos, American Express

Putney Cloos currently leads Digital Partnerships & Programs for Global Commercial Services at American Express. In this role she focuses on demand creation across digital channels and Partner experiences for American Express’ small and mid-sized business focused portfolio. A key area of responsibility is demand creation for all Amex Co Brand Small Business partnerships including: Marriott, Delta, Hilton, Lowe’s and Amazon. Prior to this role Putney was a Vice President leading American Express’ Strategic Planning Group (SPG). In SPG she led initiatives focused on AXP’s marketing investment strategy, vendor managed marketing & sales channels, non card lending strategies, and B2B product strategy.

Putney joined American Express from McKinsey & Company’s Marketing & Sales practice. She has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and an A.B. from Harvard College. She started her career as a Brand Marketer at Kraft Foods.  

Putney lives in New York City with her husband, Brian, and two young boys, Eliot and Robinson.

At her agency, Terri & Sandy, she has continued to forge great success on behalf of esteemed clients like Gerber, Disney, GSK, People Magazine, Freshpet, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Hain Celestial, Avon and Peeps marshmallow candy. In fact, Terri & Sandy was named the fourth Most Effective Independent Agency in North America by the Effie Awards in 2016 and Ad Age’s Small Agency of the Year Northeast Gold in 2015. Most recently, Terri & Sandy was awarded Ad Age’s top honor, Small Agency of the Year Gold for 2017.

Over her career, Terri has won virtually every industry award, including eight Effies for marketing effectiveness. She has also garnered the #2 spot on the Olympics for Oreo and the #9 spot on the Super Bowl for Planters. Her work has been featured on TBS Funniest Commercials, Conan, CNN, The View, Fox News, Access Hollywood, and Today.

Erica Brinker, Honeywell

Erica Brinker has spent her career turning brands into stories, and stories into sales. As Honeywell’s Vice President of Brand Marketing, she leads the development of the global brand and strategy to position Honeywell as a leading technology company that transforms the way the world works. She is evolving Honeywell’s brand beyond its current product focus into value-added software and services through  research and measurement, digital marketing, content, social media, and events and strategic sponsorships. Before joining Honeywell, Erica worked at a variety of  technology, healthcare and luxury companies, including Tiffany & Company, Ralph Lauren and Kate Spade. Erica has a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies from Pennsylvania State University and earned an M.B.A. in International Business from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. When she’s not racking up frequent flier miles, Erica lives in Arizona with her family, where she hones her personal brand as a tireless entertainer and amateur chef.

Lauren Murphy, Director, Career & PRofessional Development, HBS

Lauren Murphy is Director of Career and Professional Development at the Harvard Business School working with both MBA students and alumni. She leads the team managing over 50 Career Coaches and developing 150+ career education programs each academic year. She is also responsible for relationships with firms in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.

Ms. Murphy began her business career in the retail industry as an Assistant Buyer and Department Manager for Dillard’s of Houston. She then spent 8 years with the Procter and Gamble Company where she held various marketing positions on Crisco Oil and Duncan Hines brands. She served as Regional Marketing Manager for the Eastern US as P&G regionalized its food brands. She followed her passion for career coaching and joined Wellesley College in 2001 as the Program Director of Management Basics, introducing liberal arts majors to careers in management. She joined HBS as a Career Coach in 2003.

Ms. Murphy holds a BBA from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from Columbia University. She and her husband, Dave, have three grown children.
